Top 5 scary facts about Internet Explorer .

Today there are many different choices when it comes to which internet browser you use to surf the web. Unfortunately, they are not all created equal. While the number of people using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) is on the decline, there are still those out there who use it simply because they didn't know they had a choice - completely unaware of the downsides to Internet Explorer. IE also creates a lot of headaches for developers because Microsoft doesn't tackle the realities of the Internet and new design techniques the same way as other companies. Because of this, websites that look and function great for most people (those using Firefox, Apple Safari or Google Chrome) end up looking strange or not working at all in IE.

    Slow Browsing  Speed

While the latest version of Internet Explorer is faster than it's predecessors, it still doesn't compare to other browsers' speed, such as Google Chrome. Firefox and Apple's Safari also allow you to browse around the internet much more quickly than Internet Explorer.

    You are Not Secure

Hackers and cyber criminals are using flaws in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to search computers to discover what kinds of security software they are running and how to take control of them, security researchers claim. The exploits are allowing digital reconnaissance to be performed on a massive scale, across whole companies, computers, web servers and users without their knowledge, exposing holes in their security and allowing criminals to intelligently attack vulnerable machines.By knowing what security software is installed, the hackers can determine if their attack is going to work,Jaime Blasco, director of AlienVault Labs security firm that discovered the techniques, told the Guardian.

    Demands More Memory

If you're working on your computer for extended periods of time, you may notice applications starting to work slower and slower. This is because your computer has to use available memory to power these applications. If an application demands a lot of your computer's active memory, the system as a whole begins to slow. IE tends to demand more from your computer in this arena than other browsers.

    Web design compatibility issue

IE isn’t just bad in itself; its existence perpetuates other problems. This is true in lots of ways:Developers must write verbose, erratic code just so that IE can act right. For example, I had to write bad JavaScript a couple of weeks ago because IE wouldn’t understand my code otherwise.IE drives up the price of every web project, since it is almost guaranteed to throw curveballs that the client must pay to have fixed.IE tries to funnel you into using other inferior Microsoft offerings, like Bing, the Google clone that is IE’s default search engine.IE is a barrier to entry for people interested in web technology. Learning how to debug senseless IE problems is one more skill that separates you from becoming a web developer or a do-it-yourself site admin, and the pain of testing for IE also makes being a developer significantly more complicated and frustrating. All this prevents more people from understanding the web, and from helping to grow it and make it better.

    No Automatic Updates

You won’t find any automatic update features in Internet Explorer as you can find in other browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and others. And when there is need of updates for browser, you have to manually install the new version.
