Top 10 Greatest Scientific discovery of 2014 That will Rock You!

The year 2014 was a wealth of discoveries, insights, and milestones that advanced the fields of astronomy and other space sciences. From extrasolar planets to extraterrestrial neutrinos, these finds have made sure that 2013 has been an unforgettable year. This Top 10 list isn’t meant to be exhaustive (given how many studies are published each year, it never could be)

1.NASA rover finds 'thigh bone' on Mars

NASA's Curiosity rover snapped this shot, appearing to show a thigh bone on the surface of Mars. Alas, scientists explained that it was just another rock

2.Cancer Is Now Cured

In May 2014, the Mayo Clinic published a study in which they treated a 50 year old female patient's aggressive blood cancer with the measles vaccine. After receiving a single, enormous dose of the vaccine, Stacy Erholtz's body is completely free of cancer. Said Stephen Russell, who led the research, "It's a landmark. We've known for a long time that we can give a virus intravenously and destroy metastatic cancer in mice. Nobody's shown that you can do that in people before." The measles vaccine will not work for all types of cancer, but is an incredible step forward.

3.Earth Has a Twin

In April, NASA's Kepler space telescope spotted an "Earth cousin" planet that is similar in size to Earth, orbits its star in the habitable "Goldilocks zone," and might have water and the right conditions for life as we know it. The planet, being called Kepler-186f, circles a red dwarf star and is about 490 light-years from Earth. The newly discovered planet is the best case for a habitable planet, other than Earth, that scientists have yet found.

4.Researchers Can Clone Human Cells

After multiple failed attempts, researchers finally generated stem cells, cloned from adult men. They used the same technique that produced the famous Dolly the sheep clone in 1996. The cells used in this instance came from a 35-year-old and a 75-tear-old man in a process called nuclear transfer.

5.Water Found In Outer Space

In April, scientists announced that NASA's Cassini spacecraft discovered a body of water on Enceladus, a moon of the ringed planet, Saturn. Enceladus is an icy moon about 300 miles in diameter, and its mysterious body of water appears to be upwards of 5 miles deep, around the size of Lake Superior. Scientists have also discovered that the body of water features a rocky sea floor. This combination of liquid water and rock is a potential sign of conditions good for the development of life.

6.End Of The World

In his new book Starmus: 50 Years of Man in Space, astrophysicist Stephen Hawking details his reasoning for why it's possible that the Higgs boson particle (known as the "God particle") could be the eventual cause of the destruction of the universe. He states that it has the "worrisome feature that it might become metastable at energies above 100bn gigaelectronvolts (GeV)."

7.Scientists "Hack" Photosynthesis

Scientists from both the United States and the United Kingdom have taken the first steps towards speeding up the process of photosynthesis, using enzymes from blue-green algae. The scientists have genetically engineered Rubisco, the protein that converts carbon dioxide into sugar in plants, to speed up its conversion process. The breakthrough could have important ramifications in increasing the efficiency of food production, to help feed growing global populations.

8.New Subatomic Particle Discovered

Over 800 authors teamed to release the findings of a new subatomic particle, the meson Ds3*(2860). This particle will lend insights into the most powerful forces in nature.

9.European Space Agency Lands on a Comet

The European Space Agency (ESA) achieved a first for human space exploration in November 2014, landing the first probe on a comet. Their Philae lander detached from its ship, the Rosetta, landing on the comet after a 7-hour descent. The Rosetta mission, which has been on a ten-year journey, was a team effort between the ESA, NASA, and other partners.

10.Titanosaur Discovered in Argentina

Argentina's Museo Paleontologico Egidio Feruglio discovered a new dinosaur, thought to be the biggest in history, dubbed the "titanosaur." Surprisingly, the giant was an herbivore, weighing as much as 14 elephants. Titanosaurs date back to the late Mesozoic Era, approximately 95 million years old.

As i mention above it's not all There are so many Research, studies and discovery. Whatever wish you all had a great year. And HAPPY NEW YEAR In Advance!
